Our Story

We moved to Florida, and then in 2011, Dave started the business,  Dave Motta Painting Company Inc. Dave and one other painter were driven by a simple mission: deliver quality workmanship and complete customer satisfaction on every job. Over the years, we’ve grown from handling small interior projects to managing large-scale commercial painting—without ever losing sight of our dedication to excellence.

Dave Motta – Owner

I am a third-generation paint contractor, proudly following in the footsteps of my grandfather, George Motta, and my father, Marion “Merk” Motta. Painting has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember.

In 1995, after my father’s sudden passing, I took over the family business. Thanks to the invaluable lessons and skills passed down from my mentors, I was able to navigate this transition with confidence. My father’s guiding principle —“Do it as if you were doing the job for yourself, and you will do it right” — has shaped not only my work ethic but also the culture of Dave Motta Painting Company Inc. He taught me that the quality of the work reflects the integrity of the person performing it.

I have vivid memories of summers spent working alongside my father, brothers, uncles, and cousins — all part of the family’s painting legacy. I began my apprenticeship at just 12 or 13 years old, and the principles I learned then remain at the heart of our business today. These values guide how I train my team and ensure every project — whether for a school, hospital, or tenant buildout — meets our standard of exceptional quality.

Amber Motta – Office Manager

After 25 years in the healthcare field, I transitioned into the business to support its growing needs. In the early years, my husband, Dave, managed everything—from field work to administrative duties. As the company expanded, I stepped in as Office Manager to oversee daily operations, client communications, and team coordination.

My role allows Dave to focus on estimating and ensuring job satisfaction, while I manage the systems and structure that keep our projects running smoothly. I’m proud to contribute to the continued growth of Dave Motta Painting Company and to uphold the values of quality, reliability, and exceptional service that define our work.
